Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice provide such an important service of care to people across Colne Valley. The story of Chris, Helen, Ted and Emmerline truly captures this.
After the tragic loss of their daughter, Beatrice, in utero, Chris and Helen sought help from Forget Me Not. The hospice provided bereavement counselling, psychological help and support for Ted and Emmerline – Chris and Helen’s two children. Chris and Helen have shared just how much this support meant to them and their family:
“Forget Me Not saved our family in our darkest hour and continued to hold us for another two years as we learned to grieve and to cope. Without their care and support we would not be the thriving family we are today” – Helen
Because of this, the family has not only carried on through one of the toughest battles one can face but gone above and beyond to raise money and give back to the hospice that gave them so much.
Chris has completed three marathons across the country to raise money for Forget Me Not, a simply remarkable achievement. Not only is this a testament to the strength and resilience of Chris and the family, but also the work that Forget Me Not do for so many across the constituency.
Chris, you have done your family, Forget Me Not and Colne Valley immensely proud.
“Our journey was traumatic but the work you did saved us. You saved Emmeline’s life by being an advocate for us and her, you kept Helen and I together through counselling and my children still have a Daddy stood here today after the darkness and the storm of what we went through. We owe you everything.” – Chris
I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest thanks to all the staff at Forget Me Not. The work you do every day for people like Chris and Helen cannot be overstated and I am immensely grateful for all that you do.
