Everything I do as an MP is, first and foremost, for the people of Colne Valley. From my neighbours to the staff in our local cafés, and even my grandchildren’s classmates, it is our wonderful community that inspires my work every day. That’s why Parliament Week 2025 was so important to me as an opportunity to celebrate and highlight the vital role our community plays in both Westminster and here at home.
It was a real pleasure to visit schools, youth clubs and community groups across the constituency, giving them a glimpse of what I do and reminding them that they are the reason behind it all. The future of Colne Valley – and the world – depends not only on those working for the greater good today, but on the people around us who make that work possible. Our young people in particular will face a uniquely challenging future, with issues like climate change underscoring just how essential it is to involve them in politics.
Here is a video that I recorded for schools in the constituency.
Thank you to everyone who took part this week.
