Paul Davies MP asks Home Secretary about the rise in Incel Culture.

Following the gripping storyline of “Adolescence” and the rise of incel culture contributing to youth crime, I asked a question to the Home Secretary this afternoon, what specific measures is the Home Office implementing to address the root causes, such as online radicalization, misogyny, and social isolation, to ensure a safer and more supportive environment for young people?

The Home Secretary in answering stated that it is important that we have the stronger measure in the Online Safety Act on protecting young people against seeing extreme violence, inappropriate materials online, but also that we work in schools to prevent violence among young people, including violence and relationships.

The Prime Minister recently highlighted the urgency of this issue, stating, “We must talk about what we can do as a society to stop and prevent young boys from being dragged into this whirlpool of hatred and misogyny.” He emphasized that there is no “simple solution” and that it’s a complex cultural issue that requires a multifaceted approach.
