Frank Beaumont – Wooldale Wanderers AFC

On the weekend, I had the privilege of dropping by Wooldale Wanderers’ clubhouse for a special occasion—the unveiling of a plaque honoring the late Frank Beaumont for his incredible dedication to Huddersfield and Colne Valley football. Frank’s commitment to the sport spanned over 60 remarkable years, leaving an enduring legacy that continues to inspire the community. It was a touching moment to share in the ceremony alongside his son, Ian Beaumont, who attended this tribute to his father’s unparalleled service.

During the event, I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Berry, Wooldale Wanderers’ dedicated Groundsman, who worked tirelessly to organize this celebration. I also got to chat with Arron Gill, the club’s Secretary, as well as many long-serving members whose passion and support have kept the club thriving.

The plaque stands as a heartfelt symbol of Frank’s lifelong contributions and a reminder of the impact one individual can have on a community. Wooldale Wanderers embody the spirit of grassroots football, and today’s event reflected the profound respect and admiration for Frank’s legacy.
