I express deep sadness over the recent announcement from The Kirkwood. Hospices such as The Kirkwood and Forget Me Not play a crucial role in our communities, offering patients and their families the dignity, comfort, and support they need.

Since being elected in July last year, I have been actively advocating for increased government funding to ensure sustainable support for our hospices.

Last week, I had a productive meeting with Chief Executives Michael and Gareth from The Kirkwood and Forget Me Not, along with other Kirklees MPs. The discussion focused on the challenges hospices are facing and explored additional actions to support them.

I am deeply committed to ensuring sustainable funding for our hospices .I will continue to push the government to ensure that hospices receive the financial support they need to remain sustainable.
